The Southeast Neighbors block party planned for Saturday, Aug. 8 at Amazon Corner is cancelled. There will be no event at the site.
The event required a signed agreement with the venue, including standard liability insurance for a gathering on private commercial property. We worked with the venue on that agreement for several weeks and weren’t able to get it finalized in time.
If you received a postcard about it in the mail, please pass the word to anyone you know who might be planning to come. We’d rather over-tell people than have families show up expecting a block party that isn’t happening.
A lot of neighbors, local businesses, musicians, and volunteers put real work into this, and we’re sorry it isn’t happening. No new date has been set. An official notice is posted at southeastneighbors.org/block-party.
The traditional September picnic at Tugman Park was not scheduled for 2026 because the Southeast Neighbors changed the event format this year to the August block party, which was officially canceled just before the event.
