Val Hoyle: Look beyond roundtable campaign stunt

Presenter: Congressional candidate Monique DeSpain organized a roundtable discussion of homelessness and her campaign is releasing a series of videos on social media about the event. KEPW News has been asking the other candidates in Oregon’s 4th Congressional District for their reaction. Here is Rep. Val Hoyle: 

Rep. Val Hoyle: Look, I’m focused on doing the work, not engaging in or reacting to campaign stunts. Housing and homelessness are critical issues in the district I’ve been twice elected to represent, and I was proud to support the bipartisan ‘ROAD to Housing‘ bill and will be working with Sen. Wyden on the next step, the DASH Act.

On the other hand, the president that Ms. DeSpain voted for three times and continued to support, refused to sign the most transformational housing bill that went through Congress with Republicans, Democrats, the House, and Senate supporting it because he said housing issues and affordability are ‘a big yawn.’

That’s the difference between the two of us.
