Eugene Metro Rotary and the Eugene Parks Volunteer Program will host their annual spring cleanup event at Amazon Creek on Saturday, March 22 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.

The annual event continues the Rotary tradition of stewardship of this area that began over a decade ago.

Since 2011, the Eugene Metro Rotary has maintained an adoption agreement for the stretch of Amazon Creek from Oak Patch Road to Acorn Park Street, organizing at least two cleanup events annually.

These efforts have made a significant impact, with recorded data since 2017 showing 440 volunteer hours and the removal of 34 cubic yards of trash from the waterway and surrounding areas.

Throughout the years, the Eugene Metro Rotary has partnered with ReStore Habitat for Humanity, Friends of Oak Patch East, and Churchill Area Neighbors to increase their impact.

All volunteers are welcome to join the upcoming spring cleanup event. Participants will meet on the bike path along the creek near the Oak Patch Road bridge. Street parking is available along Oak Patch Road.

Please RSVP by email to help ensure there are enough tools are available for all volunteers.
