by Charlie Loeb

The Emerald Valley Electric Vehicle Association is providing an opportunity for community members to “Explore Electric Transportation” at an event at Amazon Community Center on Sunday, Sept. 24, from noon to 3 p.m.

The event will feature:

  • An electric car show including 20 different models of electric vehicles from different manufacturers and a chance to chat to their owners
  • An opportunity to investigate and sign up for local electric mobility sharing services, including electric carshare from GoForth, electric scooter share from Cascadia Mobility, and electric cargo bike loans from Shift Community Cycles
  • A classic Karmann Ghia converted to run on an electric engine
  • Information about money-saving options including pre-owned vehicles, tax credits, and rebates.

The event is part of National Drive Electric Week and one of over 200 events being held across the country. Financial support for Explore Electric Transportation is provided by the Eugene Water and Electric Board.
