Expect slowdowns on Ferry Street bridge Nov. 9

Drivers on the Ferry Street bridge should expect slowdowns Wednesday afternoon as contractors install temporary striping.

by Brian Richardson

People driving on the Ferry Street Bridge should prepare for lane shifts and slowdowns Wednesday afternoon as contractors install temporary striping on the bridge and connected viaduct.

The work is expected to be completed on Nov. 9 between noon and 4 p.m.

The work is part of the construction project which took place over the summer and fall months. Work on and around the Ferry Street bridge included deck sealing, crack and spalling repairs cleaning, as well as preparation and spot painting of the structure and a concrete overlay of the road surface.

Contractors also performed seismic analysis.

To complete the temporary striping as safely as possible, performing this work during the daytime was determined to be the best approach.

The city and contractor ask for your patience and understanding for the delays or inconvenience this may cause.
